P90x reviews what to expect during week one of the Insanity workout. Week one is by far the most difficult week during the 60-day max interval-training program. It really gives a glimpse into what’s to come in the following weeks. Many walk away from week one with sore muscles and joints.
Week one starts with a fit test. The test shows people exactly where they are when it comes to their fitness level. The results are used to compare to other results down the road and to see where progression has been made. The outcome from week one largely depends on an individual’s pre-athletic ability, how much sports training they’ve had, and what kind of workouts they were doing before.
Shaun T., the creator of this intense program is a fitness trainer with a background in athletics and he didn’t hold back when creating this program. Workouts are carried out six days a week. Monday starts with the fit test then it’s time to learn how to warm-up. An instructional DVD is included on how to do this. Warm-ups consist of 3 energizing rounds of cardio, getting more intense after each round. Warm-ups get the heart rate pumping and sweat dripping. It includes a lot of jogging in place, butt kicks, jumping jacks, high knees, various Heismans, and mummy kicks.

Friday rolls around pretty fast because by this time the workouts take their toll on the body. This session uses Pure Cardio for 40 minutes. By the time Sunday hits a break and some rest are much needed. Though the workouts are pretty tough for some at first, many don’t give up because the workouts are doable for those that aren’t beginners or have week joints. By the end of week one, energy levels are up and people find out what they are made of.
Besides the 10 workout DVD’s, a fitness guide, calendar, and nutrition guide are included in the program. These are great resources for how to eat right and provide more exercises to do.
